Use of library facilities and materials will be granted to active members of the MSU Alumni Association. Alumni with proper identification (current alumni card and government issued photo) are allowed the following checkout privileges: (Limit of 10 items)
The Libraries may restrict circulation to current students, faculty or staff at such times as circulation of certain books or materials may be detrimental to the interests of the current students, faculty and staff.
Exceptions:
Special Seminars on the use of library materials are held throughout the year. These are open to all Alumni.
The following materials may not be circulated for outside use; they may be used in the Libraries:
All borrowers may renew materials from the General Collection, Documents, and Maps unless the items have been requested by and are on hold for another person or for course reserve. Renewals can be done online as long as the material is not overdue. Use the bar code number on your card for the ID.
Library materials are due on the date stamped in the back of the book on the date due slip. Materials checked out to a patron are that patron’s responsibility until they are checked in at the appropriate Circulation desk. The Library is not responsible for notifying patrons that materials are overdue. Overdue notices are e-mailed as a courtesy to patrons.
During the times that Meyer Library is closed, materials may be returned in the book drop that is located on the south side of the front entrance to Meyer Library.
Materials needed for use by another borrower may be recalled after two weeks.
Materials needed for reserve may be recalled at any time.
The recall service is available only to current faculty, staff and students.
2 week loan item: $.25 per day (maximum fine: $10.00 - regular fine, $25.00 – recall fine)
All borrowers will be billed for replacement at either actual or standard cost of overdue items that have accumulated the maximum fine. All billings will include an additional $10.00 non-refundable processing charge as well as accrued fines.
