Garnett Library Computer Room

The Computer Room provides 15 computers with access to the Internet, campus network, and basic applications. A multimedia computer with digital video editing software, along with graphics, OCR, and publishing programs is also available. A scanner is connected to the multimedia computer and to the office color printer.

Other equipment includes: videotape and audiotape duplication equipment, voice-over tape player, slide reviewer, slide program projector with audio, VCR, screens, Elmo visual presenter, laptop, computer projector, and photography with 35mm camera, video camera, and a digital camera for digital pictures and digital motion.

With these resources it is possible to create color transparencies, newsletters, slide presentations, videotape presentations, computer presentations, audio tapes, web pages and more.

Computer Access

A computer ID and password is necessary to use on-campus computers and to access the electronic journal indexes and full-text from an off-campus computer. You must be a faculty, staff, student, or emeritus member at Missouri State University in order to obtain a computer ID and password. Guest accounts may be authorized if the usage is consistent with the purpose and mission of the University. Complete the "Computer User ID Request Form" available from Missouri State University - West Plains Computer Services or Garnett Library.

Dual credit instructors may request a computer ID/password and library privileges by completing appropriate forms from the Enrollment Services Office. Per course instructors may request a computer ID/password and library privileges by completing forms available in the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences. Forms are also available at the Garnett Library service desk.
