Access Online Services
Instructors and students in Dalian, People’s Republic of China (PRC), at the China Campus need a computer ID and password to access online library resources to use their BearMail accounts. Contact Philip Wittkorn to obtain a computer ID and password.
To enter online library resources, a Library Proxy Login box will appear. Enter your private ID and password. Indicate your affiliation as West Plains and Login.
Access eBooks
Students and faculty in programs through Missouri State University - West Plains have access to electronic books in NetLibrary eBooks. NetLibrary eBooks are accessible from two locations:
- Indexes & Databases on the Missouri State libraries web page.
- Garnett Library on the left bar of the Missouri State libraries web page. Select eBooks under Services at Garnett Library.
Access Articles in Indexes & Databases
Use keyword search to find articles in general and subject databases. Select Indexes & Databases on the Missouri State libraries web page. Many databases have information on PRC. See China Information in Indexes & Databases.
This list also contains other resources such as NetLibrary eBooks and Kids Search. NetLibrary eBooks are in English but the interface can be searched in Mandarin. Kids Search is an encyclopedia and dictionary useful to ESL students.
Article Tutorial for Indexes & Databases
The Garnett Library Find an Article tutorial shows how to use the online databases to find articles. The Find an Article tutorial is available on the Garnett Library page on the left bar of the Missouri State libraries web page.
Ask a Librarian
Click on Ask a Librarian on the Missouri State libraries web page. Choose email-based reference service. Click the circle by West Plains for your campus affiliation. This service is available to all faculty and students at the China Campus.
