Biographical/Historical Sketch
Senior banquets have been held at the university since 1907, mainly at the end of Spring semesters but also occasionally at the ends of the Summer and Fall semesters, especially in later years. The purpose of the banquets was to honor graduating seniors, as well as to recognize faculty and alumni. Recognition of academic, special, and departmental honors also became a part of the banquet around 1970.
