David Richards, Department Head

David Richards came to Missouri State University in February of 1997 from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He holds a B.A. and a M.A. in History from Western Illinois University, and a M.L.I.S. from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Anne M. Baker, Archivist

Anne Baker came to Missouri State University in 2001. Her M.L.S. degree is from the University of Maryland and she has served as an archivist for Williams College, the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, and the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Tracie Gieselman-Holthaus, Archives Specialist

Tracie Gieselman-Holthaus came to Missouri State University in 2005. She holds a B.A. in Classical Antiquities from Missouri State University.

Shannon Western, Special Collections Associate

Shannon Western started in the department as a student worker in 2003 and is now employed for the two-year Digital Archives Initiative project, funded by the IMLS. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Missouri State University.

Robert Moore, Adjunct Faculty

Robert Moore will be assisting the Special Collections and Archives Department in providing digital access to the Shannon County film collection that includes footage from Shannon County: Home and Shannon County: The Hearts of the Children, a two-part series on the Missouri Ozarks produced in conjunction with the former Center for Ozark Studies at Missouri State University and funded by NEH. Mr. Moore has been a film and television producer for 30 years. After receiving undergraduate (history) and graduate degrees (communication) from Stanford University, he worked as a free-lance cameraman and editor. He co-founded Veriation Films with Stephen Longstreth in 1969 and has produced film and television programs on a wide range of subjects.

Student Assistants

The Special Collections and Archives Department is helped tremendously by student assistants who work in the department.
