The collection was acquired mainly in 2006. It was processed in 2007 by Shannon Western. As new editions are acquired, they will be added to the collection.
The collection is unrestricted. Single photocopies may be made for research purposes. Founded in 1978, the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners is a not-for-profit group of runners from the area of Springfield, Missouri. The group’s mission is “to promote the health benefits of running as well as the pleasurable and competitive aspects of the sport while doing its part to improve the lives of others.” The primary founders were Wayne McKinney and Floyd Johnson.

The collection contains copies of the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners’ newsletter. Some editions are missing; contact Special Collections for a complete listing. The title of the first two volumes is The Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners Gazette. After these volumes, the title is Running Briefs.
