Biographical/Historical Sketch

Grace Palmer worked in the library at Missouri State University from 1912 to 1958, becoming Head Librarian in 1918. She enjoyed traveling with friends and collected postcards from the places she visited.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of postcards from many countries around the world. The postcards were collected between approximately 1930 and 1955, and many of them are not in English. Most of the postcards are from Mexico, but other countries featured in the collection include Poland, Guatemala, Russia, Spain, Hungary, and the Netherlands.

The postcards are arranged as they were found; in general, cards from the same country can be found together.

A finding aid for the collection is available in the Special Collections and Archives Department.
