Exhibit Looks at Early Years of MSU
Special Collections and Archives current exhibit, "Glimpses of the Past: Student Life, 1905 to 1950,” highlights the early history of Missouri State University. The display includes photographs, yearbooks, memorabilia, and other objects that give viewers a glimpse into the lives of students in the earliest years of the university. Special Collections is located on the 3rd level of Meyer Library and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with extended hours on Tuesdays when classes are in session). Finding Aid For Veterans Collection Goes Online
The finding aid for the
Harry E. Appleby Veterans Oral History Project is now online. Researchers can learn more about the project and see the list of 400 men and women who have shared their stories.

The Finding Aid for the Student Government Association is Now Online
The students of Missouri State University first formed a Student Council in 1921. Since then, the organization has grown to be an elected representative body divided into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. Among the SGA records in the University Archives are minutes, resolutions, and various versions of the constitution and bylaws. There are also records about the Wyrick Fund, founded in 1982. Generated by student fees, this fund promotes projects designed to benefit the student body. The
SGA finding aid is online; the records can be used in the Reading Room.

University Archives Has Developed A Manual For University Record Keepers
The
University Archives recently held workshops designed to help faculty and staff better understand how to preserve potentially archival material on campus. The manual developed as part of those workshops is now online.
When In Doubt, Don't Throw It Out! An Archival Handbook for Missouri State University Record Keepers will answer many questions about preserving the university’s important documents.
