Faculty & Graduate Student Study Carrels

Overview

Meyer Library is pleased to provide study carrels for Missouri State University faculty and graduate students. A total of 8 private study carrels are on the third floor of Meyer Library. Each study carrel is approximately 8 x 9 feet and includes a large desktop work surface, comfortable seating, and network connectivity.

In order to request a study carrel, please review the guidelines below and then complete the study carrel request form.

User Guidelines

  • Room assignments are made on a first-apply, first-assigned basis.
  • Rooms are assigned per semester or academic year, but may be renewed as needed.
  • As many as four persons may be assigned to a study carrel. Each person is responsible for scheduling individual access. Multiple assignments will not be made until all available rooms are occupied unless people request to be grouped together.
  • No library materials may be left in the study carrel without proper checkout or permission from the Circulation Department. The Library reserves the right to enter study rooms at any time and to remove unauthorized materials.
  • The Library assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property left in the study carrel.
  • Individuals are responsible for lost keys and damages to library property. The Library will equally divide damages between persons assigned to a carrel if individual responsibility cannot be determined for damage of shared carrels.
  • Windows in the carrels must remain uncovered.
